General Info

The SBLL Board of Directors has been working closely with Little League officials and the Solana Beach school board to develop a safe approach to our 2021 season.  Our desire is to conduct a “traditional” season with practice beginning in late January, and games beginning on March 6th.

Please understand certain decisions about the upcoming season, including when games will begin, are out of SBLL’s control.  The simplified explanation, based on youth sports rules put forth by the California Department of Health and Human Services, is that we expect the state will permit baseball games locally when San Diego County is no longer in the Purple (highest) COVID tier.
Currently, youth sports organizations ARE permitted to organize teams, conduct practices and clinics, and move forward with most traditional activities other than “team vs. team” competition.  The activities are permitted as long as players, coaches, and families maintain adequate COVID safety plans and procedures.   COVID safety protocols for our spring season can be found  here SBLL Spring 2021 Covid-19 Protocols 1-7-21 (1).pdf

We understand you may have questions about what the little league season will hold.  We will do our best to answer what we can now, and to keep you informed as we go.  Moving forward with registration now provides the league critical information we need to secure enough volunteer coaches, uniforms, equipment, etc. for a successful season.  Should we not be able to play games this season, we still plan to conduct regular practices, skills competitions, and fun gatherings from February through May that players will enjoy, and we will provide an appropriate, proportionate refund of registration costs not needed for umpire fees, uniforms, game equipment, etc.

To register please click on the “Register Now” link at the top right of this page.  Please reach out to me if you have any questions, and we look forward to seeing your kids on the field in 2021!

Best,

Dan Krems, President, Solana Beach Little League
